At the core of our work, MTS Working Groups serve as the impetus for vital stakeholder discussions that envision the grid of the future and develop necessary frameworks for achieving those goals. More Than Smart’s inaugural Working Groups assisted in the development of the Walk-Jog-Run Model in creating frameworks for developing planning, operations, and market functions that further a high-DER future. These conversations shaped the development of a report, “More Than Smart: A Framework to Make the Distribution Grid More Open, Efficient and Resilient.” This report was referenced by the California Public Utilities Commission in guidance rulings for its Distribution Resource Plans (DRP) proceeding.
More Than Smart looks forward to further meetings of the MTS Working Groups as we continue to lead in setting a vision for how the distribution grid needs to evolve to meet the goals of all stakeholders – customers, DER providers, and the state alike.
